PICO Louisiana works to create housing opportunities for working families.  Victories in leading the effort to secure $5.1 million for revitalization of Lincoln Beach in New Orleans; passing state legislation to redevelop blighted properties and helping establish a housing trust fund in Louisiana.  PICO Louisiana has been at the forefront of fighting for a fair share of federal resources for Louisiana to rebuild.  With the PICO National Network, PICO Louisiana played an important role in securing $4.2 billion in 2006 to fund the State's Road Home program.  PICO Louisiana and its affiliates are holding public officials and private contractors accountable to act as good stewards of public dollars to rebuild housing in the region.  PICO Louisiana has worked with public housing residents and local churches to secure 1,500 new homes planned for Treme' Neighborhood in New Orleans.
